One frequently finds reports of past conferences on various websites, and although this blog is mainly devoted to upcoming conferences, some of these reports are worth your attention.  In D-Lib Magazine for July/August 2011, two reports on conferences dealing with subjects of high current interest are available.

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The 2011 Inaugural United States Electronic Theses and Dissertations Association (USETDA) Conference (May 18-20, Orlando, FL, reported by James RW Macdonald, University of Northern British Columbia) attracted over 100 attendees and covered:

  • Copyright and publication
  • Workflow
  • Preservation and discoveryries

Presentations are available on the USETDA Conference Website.

Open Repositories 2011

The 6th International Conference on Open Repositories (Austin, TX, June 8, reported by Carol  Minton Morris, DuraSpace) had the theme “Collaboration and Community” and focused on developing repository collections and communities.  In her report, Morris provides an extensive list of blogs and tweets about the conference, as well as the opening and closing keynote addresses.  Presentations are available here.

As many of my readers know, my work tracking conferences and producing this  blog includes keeping the ITI Conference Calendar up to date.  In my latest update on July13, I couldn’t help but notice how many 2012 conferences have just been announced.  The announcements are coming thick and fast; here are the new ones just added to the  Calendar.

If you know of a conference that’s not on the Calendar, please let me know.  Thanks for your help.
